You can contact the surgery by using the online form, in person at reception or by calling 01229 484 141. Our receptionists will ask you some questions to help the GP.
We have a wide variety of appointments which are all triaged by a GP.
Routine appointments
These can be up to several weeks ahead for those matters which are non-urgent or which are already being treated by a doctor but need to be reviewed.
On the Day GP appointments
For any problems that a GP has assessed the patient requiring an appointment that day. Please bear in mind that these are limited in number.
Telephone Appointments and Video Appointments
These appointments may be offered by the GP or you can indicate your preference for one of these appointments on the Accurx Patient Triage form used by the Practice.
Home Visits
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:00.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
A patient will be deemed to be housebound when they are unable to leave their home environment through physical and/or psychological illness.
An individual will not be eligible for a home visit if they are able to leave their home environment on their own or with minimal assistance to visit public or social recreational public services (including shopping).
Practice Nurses
We have a wide range of appointments with our Nursing team including Long Term Condition reviews, Dressings, Lifestyle advice, Vaccinations and more.
Health Care Assistants
Our Health Care assistant appointments will be arranged if you require any blood tests, Blood Pressure checks, ECGs or other physical checks your GP has requested.
We also have a team of specialised clinicians that you may be offered an appointment with these include:
- First Contact Physio – For advice and help with musculoskeletal issues such as pain in legs, hips, knees etc
- Pharmacist – For any medication issues or advice
- Mental Health Practitioner – For help with anxiety and a range of other mental health conditions.
Cancellations
We only have a finite number of appointments each day. If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason, please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to offer the slot to someone else. You can cancel an appointment by calling us on 01229 484119 or submitting an admin message using the online triage form. You will also receive a text reminder the day before your appointment, in this is a link to cancel your appointment.
